The Hamilton Spectator considers Domenic DeAngelis as White Knight !

The Hamilton Spectator published an article this morning on the demise of Piazza banquet centre in Hamilton.  They recently closed its doors in December because of a bad economy.  I had approached the owners about making sure that their customers were taken care of and as a result we were able to accomodate most of the customers with the exception of a few !  In this particular case, the couple decided to make most of their payments ahead of time ( which I totally discourage with my clients ) and were caught off guard with the closing.  Under my experiences with these owners, it seems to me that they are doing the best they can to forward funds back to all their old clients.  I've included a copy of the article for everyone to read.   Please remember, that the money is always better in your bank then someone elses.  Abide by the payment schedule but no more and no less.

The Destination wedding after reception

As many people are finding that they don't want the big hoopla of the big wedding reception, more and more couples are going south for their weddings.   This seems to be a great idea for cost but the other question remains , what about the rest of our family and friends that can't come to our beautiful southern wedding destination.  Here at Renaissance Banquet Centre we have already booked 4 extra after receptions after the sunspot wedding.  Costs affecting the reception are much lower due to the Friday or Sunday bookings as well as the simpler meal.   Cocktail as well as buffet menus are satisfying the value seeking couples in order to buy that new house ! 

Successful Bridal Show

Welcome all to my blog, We finished our 17th or 18th bridal show.... wow...we had a great response , my fruit carving demonstration went well as usual with all the brides and their mothers adoring my carvings.   Found a lot of brides not having halls which is good for us and also finding that many are going away to get married but need halls when they get back to hold a reception for all their family and friends.   Good to see all the new designs in the booths and tactics all the vendors have !!  The big limo bus beside our booth got a lot of attention...way to go Dynasty Limo !!   We found it was a lot slower on the Sunday then it was on Saturday, I guess the brides didn't want to get out on the cold Sunday morning !   Already had 4 calls from the show.....so I guess its working !  Have a great day and look for my next blog !!  Off to Montreal with my lovely wife on Thursday for my Birthday celebrations which includes watching my favourite Habs at the Bell Centre on Thursday night !!  Ciao All xoxo

This year Renaissance will be hosting a wonderful Fundraiser for the Juravinski Cancer clinic. This fun filled event will have a classic disco band, great food stations and some excellent disco drinks with a great silent auction. My First Blog......

Wow.... here we go, my first blog. i'm sitting here waiting for my next appointment to arrive so I thought I'd start up the New Renaissance Banquet & Special Events Centre Inc. wedding blog. As you may or may not know, Piazza Banquet Centre across from Carmen's is closing its doors because of a sale of the building. Not any fault of theirs, so to make things a little smoother for Piazza and all their booked customers for 2010, The Renaissance has decided to honour all their contracts within certain stipulations. We wanted to make sure that these brides and grooms were being taken care of as did Amber and Steve of Piazza, so we took quick decisive action to make sure that their days were not going to be disrupted !! Amber and Steve have labelled us their Christmas Angels thanking us for helping them thru this difficult time !
